If this is the part that "plugs in" to the electrical....I have heard that they don't do much and are not worth the money spent. You can increase your response by playing with your base timing and moving it from 6 degrees up to 8-10 degrees. My 85 likes about 8. You can also reset your TPS from .54 volts to .60 and you will notice a better response.

Hey....just saved you a few $$'s.

Is this the thing that plugs inline with the Throttle Position Sensor?

If it is, I put one on my 85, didnt notice much, if any, difference. 4 years after installing it, the car suddenly lost power one day, bucked some...cut off a few times..ran poorly overall.

I stopped, unplugged the thing...removed it and threw it into the woods on the side of the road. Car immediatly started running fine again...

Use a multimeter and set the meter to low DC volt setting. Loosen the two screws that hold the TPS sensor to the TB. Turn the key to the ON position....do not start the car. Measure the voltage between the two TOP wires on the TPS. You can stick paper clips into the connector and use these to measure the voltage or buy special connectors from Mid America or others. Voltage should read .54 volts. Gently tap the TPS sensor up or down as you measure the voltage. When you hit the .60 mark.....tighten the screws and recheck. Now check for WOT by moving the TB arm to full open by hand. TPS voltage should be about 4.49 volts. You can play with the TPS position to get both the .60 at idle and 4.49 at WOT by moving it up/down/ forward and back. Movements are small. Again...this is done with the key on...engine NOT running.
