That’s my hood liner.
In 1966 I was a combat medic with the 1st Air Calvary in Vietnam that is why I selected to show the Medivac Huey in the back ground. But the main tribute is to the Vietnam Memorial Wall honoring our soldiers who “Gave It All” and never will be forgotten.
Allow me to explain why I chose this design. When my fellow soldiers and I had time to relax and think about home, we talked about the things we would do when we returned home. Things like never stop hugging our gals, take that motorcycle trip cross country, buy the Corvette we always dreamed about, or just sit around doing nothing all day but drinking cold beer.
I was one of the fortunate ones that made it home and was able to fulfill some of those dreams. One dream took me 40 years to fulfill, that was to buy my Corvette which is a 2009 C6 I purchased last August.
When I joined Corvette Form I started to see a lot of custom painted hood liners. I was directed to Autobuffs’ web site where I saw some fantastic works of art and that’s what got me started on my hood liner project. I contacted Jan at Autobuffs and told her what I was looking to do and Jan started to make my ideas into reality. You can see for yourself that Kevin their artist is a master with that airbrush.
A fellow form member said this looked too nice to be on the hood of my Corvette and should be hung on a wall. On a wall only I would see it, I wanted it to be a tribute to all of my fellow Vietnam Veterans and to the real heroes who Honor This Wall. I will show this everywhere I go so no one will forget who the “Real Heroes” of this country really are.
God Bless the USA………… and God Bless those who “Gave It All”

That is really cool!
Some things just dont change. Currently on my second deployment and we all talk about hugging our wives or girlfriends, taking roadtrips on the new motorcycle or buying a Vette. Im in the "buying a Vette" catagory and will take delivery in July.
I'm particularly glad to see you achieve your dream and maintain the pride of being Viet Nam Vet.
