It's Official: NHTSA Recall for Roof Delamination
Not a fix, but a roof skin replacement is now being required by the Feds:

" THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JANUARY 2010."
Tip:
Print this recall just in case you get a "non-believing" service manager.

The Federal Government never issued a recall for this. It was considered a GM in-house TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that was mailed to owners for a "repair" or "replacement" if delamination was evident, even though the "flying roofs" could kill/injure other innocent motorists.

I wonder what triggered this?? I haven't seen a rash of CF members reporting new top failures.
My 07 was built with new SMC roof and passed it's inspection a few months ago having just purchased the car pre-owned.

Reading the notice, there is a conflict.
The top of the recall notice says:
CHEVROLET / CORVETTE 2005-2007
CHEVROLET / CORVETTE Z06 2005-2006
The body of the recall notice says:
CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005 THROUGH 2007 CORVETTE AND MODEL YEAR 2006-2007 CORVETTE Z06.
Anyone know which is correct?

These are same type govt morons that want to run our health care system. They've only had 3 years plus to get it right and still can't even figure out the vette models because it's to complicated for them!!
