Default Long Tube Headers - Do you have a "ticking" sound? Or other annoying sounds?

I'm still on the fence with buying Long Tubes. I was looking at the LG Streets. I love the idea of the great sound and performance but I can't stand annoying sounds or rattles at idle. I've heard that because of their thin walls headers will give you a ticking or sewing machine sound.

Do any of you guys have this sound or any other unwanted noise/vibrations from your LT Headers? How loud is it and can it be heard from the cabin? Only at idle or at speed?

Thanks guys

Yes they are noisier. Sounds like a sewing machine.

Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Only hear it at idle, from outside the car. It doesn't sound like something's wrong though.

That doesn't really bother me.

If it was inside the car and i could hear it all the time and it got louder as the RPM's went up it would be a problem!

Yep. Plus the fiberglass body panels of the vette dont do much to reduce the sound either. Even with that, you have to pretty close to the car to hear the "sewing machine" sound.

Cant hear anything like that in the cabin though. Nothin but pure aural bliss!

OK I can deal with that. Any other problems or vibrations or anything?

Default Ticking/Sewing Machine Noise

I only hear the ticking noise with the stock rocker arms. Yella terra rocker arms quieted the noise...until one of them broke.

Really? I thought the ticking sound was from the exhaust pulses inside the headers due to the thinner walls. I didn't think it had to do with the rockers at all? Can someone correct me if Im wrong?

I have the LG LT'S PRO's and there is some ticking at idle (engine firing exhaust in the header noise) yes because of the thin walls, but once you thottle up you can not hear it any more. The noise nothing compared to the gain in power. good luck

So i had to check this out, inside the car I don't hear it, but I do hear valvetrain. Even stock I heard valvetrain noise. I had to pop the hood an tune out exhaust at the back, valvetrain to get a hint of the exhaust pulse noise. but its not something I noticed before personally.....

You can also get a ticking, whistling sort of sound if the joint where the headers meet the x pipe isn't tight.

Well I'm already far from stock. Like I said I have no problem with some sounds outside the car only at idle I just don't like annoying noises/rattles in the cabin while driving. Sounds like LT Headers will work for me. I'll let you guys know how it runs when they are installed.
