Default Elkhart blue 67 vert

Hi members I just was looking at a 67 elkhart blue roadster 427-400 horse loaded with options on the C-2 corvette auto trader on the last page #10, just wondering if you guys or gals have looked at it and just tell me what you think of it, the name scares me it's at Billy Bob's Cars It's all numbers matching with the tank sticker for documentation and the motor has been detailed to NCRS specs. he wants 105 thousand or BO let me know what you think or if you have dealt with this person. sincerly yours ditchdigger650. I was thinking of selling my 67 coupe thats why I was interested.

Ditch.. do you have a link to the car? Also for 105k you might be best served by having a NCRS Judge or knowledgeable member to inspect the car if you are worried about ole Billy Bob's validity of it being a real deal..

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a bonded/insured appraiser give you a written opinion, too? A car dealer can represent everything accurately to the best of his knowledge, but there are so many things on these old cars that require specialized knowledge that something important could be wrong about the car and Billy Bob would never know it.

It would seem that the same principle of being certain of what you're buying applies, whether it's a $25K car or a $250K car.

Here is the direct link to the pictures:

I like the way it looks, and the color scheme is spectacular. It is also highly optioned.

The pad photo is a good picture, but would need a closer look to determine authenticity. I would anticipate noticeable broach marks on such an early car, which cannot be seen in the picture.

That tank sticker looks almost too good, and I don't see any glue residue on it. Not trying to launch a conspiracy theory, but I do suggest you have it inspected very carefully.

It's definitely an awesome looking car.

For that kind of coin, I'd have have a NCRS Judge verify it though.

Billy Bob's Cars was set up at Corvette Carlisle this year. Bob had three or four cars there. I spoke with him at length about a C3 vert that was for sale and he seemed very forth coming. I even followed up with him after the show and he recounted how the car had sold and for how much.

Like everyone said, for any sizable purchase, spend the money and bring the experts.

Isn't it funny how the rips and tears on a document never involve the high $$$ items...like the engine option, etc..

If I were spending that kind of coin. I would hire an expert for an inspection. I would also pay, Al Grenning, to verify the pad.

I would not use/rely on that tank sticker to document the car. I would proceed very carefully, and get a qualified judge/expert to help determine originality and condition.

There are at least two major errors/incompatibilities; no point in helping the fakers for the next one.

One of them is super-obvious...I can't believe no one has pointed it out yet. I had to get out my Noland Adams' book to find the second. This is fun!

I was referring to the tank sheet itself...had not looked at the tach!

In addtition to the pristine, wrinkle-free, glue-free condition, there are two errors on the tank sheet that give it away as a repro.

They forgot to check the Corvette black book before creating the option list.
