I hope they started using these "knock offs" after mine was installed in March / April 2007! Does anyone know this?

My guess would be they were knock-off's the entire time. My kit that i received in December 06 is knock-offs.

To my knowledge all C6 kits had Garrett turbos not Mitsubishi knock offs... It's the C5, F-body and GTO guys that got bad knock offs.

Now I'm not defending APS... Go with TTi, but C6 community should not have turbo issues. Bad fuel system that's another story.

You are correct, the C6 kit has Garrett GT3076R ball bearing turbos. I have that kit on my car, and installed it myself, so I can vouch for that.

Also, I can't tell if they just stopped the Fbody kits, or if they stopped all kits, or what kits they stopped making. Maybe Peter can post here and clear that up. It doesn't seem clear based on the various posts.

Also, I am now wondering if I will be able to get parts from them in the future for my C6 APS kit, or if I'll have to get custom parts made for it now. I'm afraid I may know the answer, but it would be nice if APS posted it here.

I've read the ENTIRE thread on LS1Tech, here's what Peter had to say:

First Peter said:
Unfortunately I can't assist you as APS has decided not to produce any further F body twin turbo systems.
Then:
The decision to stop producing twin turbo kits for American muscle cars was made 8 months ago.

No chance, APS is now out of the F Body twin turbo market, sorry that I can't assist you. ...
Also said:
We don't sell exhaust manifolds or intercoolers as separate items
Now, take "American Muscle Car Market" as you will. A lot of people are interpreting that as the US Domestic car market, and that's probably fine with most.

However, on the 6th of August he said the following over on tech:
Correct, APS will produce more GTO twin turbo systems as soon as we have production time available which hopefully will be before the end of 09,
Who knows what they're doing other than screwing a lot of customers over right now. If something major fails on your kit (exhaust, manifold, ect.) I seriously doubt you'll get a replacement from APS.

Thats what happens when dealing with foreign entities. It was a nice kit when it was around, well engineered as far as I can see. However getting something made here with a vendor you can talk to in our country is the way to go. Sort of reminds me of a crappy header company called "the other guys headers" they totted a life time warranty, well my suburban headers cracked the other day, and guess what the warranty is S**T because they went **** up who knows how long ago. Stuff like this is only as good as the company is or as long as they stay in business.

Gee, imagine that. Peter just responded to me over there on Tech:

Wow, that sounds definitive. No more Vette twin turbo kits. That seems to mean to me C5 or C6. Oh well.

Not everything in their kits is made in Australia, so I would think we could still get replacement parts for things like the turbos. Anybody know for sure?

I believe that a genuine Garrett GT3071 turbo will pretty much bolt right in, since they are about the same overall size, and use a T25 exhaust housing, but I can't say for sure.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_700382_3.htm

They offer compressor housings with a 2.75" compressor inlet, which might be a bit tight, but the overall dimensions appear to be fairly similar, so there are options out there.

I spoke to Blouch Turbo and Forced Performance, and both companies said they should be able to supply new CHRA's for the C6 turbo.

Very little of the kit was built in Oz. Much of the kits were from the lowest bidder in China.

People couldn't get replacement parts when APS was actively selling the kits (one of the first people to get the GTO kit couldn't even get a basic part replaced and that was nearly two years ago) so I'd say you guys are totally SOL in terms of getting support from APS.

Turbos can be replaced from other vendors..
