Making wider C6 Rear Fenders, but how wide?
As the title states, we will be making some new rear fenders very soon, I was curious how wide we should make them? Should we make them a a bit wider like the Z06 or not as wide. Im open to suggestions, we will be making these within the next couple week's so any suggestions would be appreciated.
As I have mentioned in my other thread's, I know most of the time when someone is making a new part it scares everyone off because of the price. These fenders will most likely be in the $700 range for both sides not the usual "Corvette Tax" price.

The Z06 fenders are just about right. Anything wider without making the front wider as well ( booty conversion only) would look awkward.

if you make them wider.. how does that impact the inner fender lining? i know the complete c6 z0 rear kit for 1200ish comes with fenders and liners. Would your kit be $700 for just the fenders? or fenders with new liners?

I would make them the same size as the zo6 fenders. Anthing wider would not be proportional to the front end and would look odd.

I think they should be wide enough to hold z06 sized wheels&tires flush with the end of the fenders. This way people still have the same wheel options as a z06 and not some waqcky offset. A different style would be nice, so people dont assume you are trying to convert your car into a "FAKE" z06.
Hopefully the $700 includes all the linings and everything needed to install, or else this will not be much of a bargain.

How about we make flared rear fenders without any scoops? Also they will be about $640 so a bit cheaper than the $700 I mentioned earlier. I am looking into getting front fenders made.

I'd love to see front bumper/rear fenders without any additional scoops. Just a wider stance to set it off from a base C6 without compying a Z06.

why not check DMV state and national regulations regarding passenger car width and go for the max legally allowed? I mean, back in the OLD days this was the way it was done with hood scoops and rear end height...and today on the little imported cars the size of the rear "wing" seems to be controlled only by the width of the rear deck and the ability of the car to bear the weight without bottoming out the rear suspension....they just keep getting bigger in other words. So go for the max whatever it is.....bigger / wider has to be better!

I personally don't understand why you wouldn't want the rear scoops.
They are functional brake cooling ducts. And as you add a wider wheel, especially one with a 3 inch lip like I have, you have less airflow to the brakes.
Just my .02 cents.

If you were to keep the air ducts, I think you should redesign them to look better than those on the Z06...lower and more flush with the panel might look good. Otherwise, I think the clean non-scoop look would look better on the C6.

make them 1.5 inch wider, there are some that are like 5 inches wider, thats a lot....... on the pictures looked weird, but I personally saw a black Vette with a set of those humongus fenders and a nice set of wheels and they are beautiful....wider is always beter

also to note: I have a C6, my boss has a Z, we park next to each other and some co-workers they don't even notice the difference of the wider body, I know we do because we breath Vette, but most of the people don't get it. I think wider will be noticiable.
