Driver's power seat not working!!
Hey guys, this started last fall when my power seat switch would kinda cut out every now and then when I needed to make fine adjustments. Almost like the power would just shut off, then on then off. Like sputtering. Well I just gased her up for the first time this spring. The switch dont work at all. Up, down ,front to back. Switch/power to the seat is completely dead. I checked the fuse and relay. They appear fine. Im thinking the worse here and like its the whole module or something else big $$$ like that. Opinions guys? These things I dont think are known for problems, or I cant find any issues anywhere on the net about the power seat mechanism crapping out like this.

My seat was having problems with fore and aft movement in cold weather. It would only move a fraction of an inch when the button was pushed or the memory function tried to move the seat. I could get it to move by repeatedly hitting the seat button or memory button but as soon as the cabin warmed up everything was fine. The dealer was finally able to duplicate the failure a few weeks ago and the entire seat track was replaced. Biggest problem was finding a new one. GM didn't have any and the dealer had to have one shipped from another dealer in the midwest.

Finally got around to checking the power from the wire plug in. Took the seat out and checked the connector coming from under the carpeting.Yep there is powergoing to the seat . So now I wonder what parts under the seat need replacing. I know this stuff is $$$$.

Posted on another forum members seat issue thread. How does one get to feed direct power to the seat to see if the seat motors are working??

Thanks alot for the schematic! Im just left to wonder before I get my hands dirty with this, I dont think all the motors have failed. Then again, I wonder how often the switch craps out. Isn't there a computer or something under the seat as well that could have malfunctioned? Im thinking in the end I'm gonna have to spend the $450 US for a whole new adjuster assembly. How does the seat switch come off?
