Default c4 oil change

I have an 88 corvette with 35000 miles on it and I drive it about 5 miles a day at most. The last time i changed the oil was about 2 years ago (probaly 1000-2000 miles MAXIMUM) with mobil 1. Is this acceptable? Or should i change it more often?

Yes you should change your oil even if it has low mileage.

Even through you've only driven it 1000 to 2000 miles in the last 2 yrs, you should still change the oil at least once a year.

imo, you should change it with a new filter at least once a year. for the relatively small cost, it's worth it!

as to every six months, may not be necessary but it won't hurt anything.

You really need to change it more often. I would do it at least twice a year for your driving habits. Mainly because if your only driving 5 miles a day, your heating up the engine but the oil is not getting hot enough to burn off the condensation, so the water will cause the oil to sludge. Eventually this create an early demise of your engine.

Om a further note, you really need to enjoy that thing more. An '88 or any C4 for that matter is never really going acheive a "collector" status. So there really is no reason not to drive it. On top of that, inactivity will cause soft things like gaskets and bushing to dry rot.

You need to change it, at least twice week, cause it will create damage.

Contrary to the old belief that it's a mint car because "it was just driven to church on Sundays by an old lady" is dead wrong. That's the worse kind of treatment you can give a car. If the oil is not taken to full operating temperature for a spell the oil gets diluted with contaminants, is less lubricating and therefore should be changed more often not less.

This is already broken down into potato head language, even a retardedkid would understand the above thread.

My opinion: Drive your Vette or sell it
