Battery Replacement Fit for C6
I need to replace the battery in my 2005 C6 Manual. Has anyone replaced the AC Delco OEM with the Optima Red Top, and if so, did it fit properly? The shape of the Optima looks like it might be a problem. Appreciate any feedback.

Optimas are not all they are cracked up to be.
I would stay with the ACDelco Professional grade with a 50 month, free replacement warranty.

I haven't needed it, yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Optima Red 35. That's probably what I'll get when the time comes.

I got one yesterday,Optima red Top, it seems I had a dead short in my TB harness.
Had to clean up and solder with shrink tubing the 8 wires that go to the plug
for the TB.
Fittment was great, and matched my Valve Covers!!

The '05 C6 used a different post and cable location than later 'Vettes. Best try a test fit before you pay.

I was thinking about a type/size 86 from Walmart. I think it will be an acceptable battery and that's all I'm looking for. Has anybody used the generic 86?

When it comes time to replace your battery all you need to know is, Sears. Sears Die Hard. NOTHING is better!

I put a yellow 35 in my 06 to save weight.
Picture is pre-headers.

So you did the reverse battery trickery? Is it pretty easy?

Simple, took longer to get the old one out. 06 comes with a T5 battery and as you stated the polarity is 180 off, but everything works and fit fine.

That Optima is heavy. I will probably pick up an Odyssey. I had one in my other car and is was great and lightweight. Here are some specs.
