Default Value of the C5!?!

What do you guys think the fair value of a very low mileage C5 6 speed Convertible is? I can’t believe how much prices seemed to have dropped! I bought my car last year for 28,500 and due to financial reasons have been trying to sell it this spring asking 26,000 but have gotten barely any offers! In your mind what is the actual value for one? I don’t want to give it away! I am thinking I may wait until the summer to try and sell again when interest in convertibles may peak a little.

I'd say to use the Kelly Blue Book site. Don't be too discouraged that people aren't looking for your car. Most people are having trouble because of the economy.

Another source is edmunds.com - or just check what people here on the forum are asking for theirs. Yes, some of the ones here are priced too high and are not selling, but others are priced pretty reasonable and get lots of hits.

What year model C5 and how many miles? Also assuming no damage history.

I know of 2 C5s, a '99 FRC and a '97 6-speed coupe, that recently sold for 10K each.

Spring is the best time for selling your car; winter is the best time to buy.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

Hi Jacks ya mine is a 02 with 14k miles never any accidents- if I only get 23k I might as well drive it around for a few more months and enjoy the beginning of the summer with it first! lol. Thanks for the Kbb tip knyght4 I am going to price it later.

Kelly Blue Book says my 2003 50th ae is worth about $24950 trade in value and 29.000 to private party, but I doubt I'd ever get that if I was interested in selling, which I'm not. But I've never bought a corvette I ever wanted to sell.

Mileage is obviously great, but it's still an 02.
Options?
In this economy low 20's it is.
Good luck.

The only thing wrong with the economy is that the damn libs don't want it to turn around, in fact they are out to destroy capitalism. The f'in Dems and most Repubs are just power hungry politicians whose egos won't fit in the Super Dome before or after Katrina! The economy problems are the creation of government interference, high taxes AND stupid government nonregulation and regulation and on and on! Our new President has never run any king of business, neither has the Speaker of the House beotch or the Senate majority leader reid, can't force myself to use caps on that jerk off's name and title!

Wake up America!

My vette is priceless because I WON'T Sell it for peanuts!

What Year?? I bought my '04 vert with 10K miles in May '07 for $35K. It is not worth anywhere close to that now. However, I did buy it to keep it for the long haul.

It's crazy. I see late MY C4s on sale for more than the asking prices of late MY C5s. And, the C5 is twice the Car.

If your car was correctly priced when you bought it about a year ago, it should be worth about 3,500 - 5,000 less today. That said, nice C5 are still worth roughly the same amount as early C6s. But people buying convertibles in late winter or early spring are usually looking for bargains.

Good luck! The right buyer might come along.

i have a 1984 4+3 vette with 46k on the clock, "posted in pic". it is in "mint" condition. i would be lucky to get $5000.00 for it, but if i was to part it out , as that is my business, i could get 10-12k for the parts off this c4, just unbelievable. i guess it will just stay on my rack for another 12 years "as is" and will give it to my 4 year old!!!!
