Default air conditioning problems

to all the a/c gurus....

when i push the a/c button the light flashes for 1 to 3 seconds than it shuts off. compressor never engages.

what is happening? anyone?

Any codes on the DIC?

Maybe check for low freon level.

Wow! I just answered this question on a thread just the other day.

Check fuse #24 to make sure its not blown. If its ok, then its probably your freon charge. Usually the blinking light is a sign that its low and it won't let the compressor run.

Sound like you have low freon. If you dont have enough in the system the pressure switch will not activate the compressor.

Check your HVAC codes. Using the Fuel + options 4 times buttons you can read all the codes. Pay attention to the ones under the HVAC section.

only code is 10-pcm PO 645

can anyone tell me what this code is? i did not find it in my code thread list.

not sure what that code is, but I had that same problem with my car. I just had to recharge it. just fixed it last week actually

I think that will happen if the fan (blower) is set to too slow. Have you tried increasing the fan's speed on the HVAC controls before pushing the AC button?
