Lew Williams Chevrolet
I own a 1966 L72 Corvette Coupe. Through some research I was able to find out that my car began life on Oct. 8, 1965. It was shipped to Lew Williams Chevrolet in Sacramento, California on Oct. 10, 1965. Does anyone know if any documentation or information exists from around that time. Also, who could be contacted in search of information regarding this dealership? I appreciate any help.

Lew Williams Chevrolet in Sacramento was on Fulton Street, across from Tognotti's High Performance if I recall correctly. You might contact the Sacramento Bee newspaper to see if they can give you more information. Or contact the current dealer at that location, Mike Daugherty Chevrolet, 2449 Fulton Ave, Sacramento - (916) 482-1600

Correct, Lew Williams was on the cornor of Fulton Ave and El Camino. At the time Tognotti's was a Safeway grocery store.
redcliff, my cousin worked in the body shop for several years. His name is Tony Costanzo.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to bring back personal memories, too. Google Earth still shows a Chevrolet dealership at the corner of Fulton and El Camino, Mike Daugherty Chevrolet (see above). I might take a chance and contact the existing dealer. Who knows, maybe they'll have some info. I think it would be neat to find some dealer literature or period pictures to go with the car.

Lew Williams Chevrolet - Eugene, OR
I just rec'vd the documentation telling me that my 1964 Corvette Coupe, 327/300, 4 speed, with factory air was deliveried to Lew Williams Chevrolet in Eugene, OR. The car was built 4/22/1964. Anyone have any connections and/or knowledge of the dealership and/or salesman from that time period. The dealership was sold to Joe Romania approx 1969 and stayed in business until 2005. Would love to have contact with anyone regarding the history of my car.

I was in Sacramento on business last month and visited Tognotti's giant speed shop. There IS a car dealer on one of the adjacent corners, AIR it was a Chevrolet shop, but I might be wrong.
