LSX 434 Twin Turbo Project! PICS!!!
I have enjoyed seeing everyones great projects over the years. Now, finally it's my turn!
I am having built an LSX block .30 over for 434ci with twin turbos. This will be a slow project over several months but I will continue to add pictures as we go along. Pictures below are of block and LS7X World heads being mocked up with an intake. Keep in mind everything is a one off project so you will see a lot of fabrication on this project. More pics to come as we move along with the project.
Here is a pic of the turbos were going to use. Turbonetics GT-K 650's, which are 66mm twins. Good for about 700hp each!

hey gorrillavet I just wanted to let you know that the GT-K series turbo suckkkkkkk.... I mean they are nice looking and stuff but spool really late. I am not sure if you are concerned with this but I would suggest some S366 extended tip from BG they are good for 800 whp each and they spool way quicker than the GTK series. Just trying to help from what I have seen in turbos.
I currently run a Turbonetics 66mm on my Dodge SRT4 4cyl and it spools about 4800. Im going to upgrade to the S368 from BG and spook is about the same and i will be making about 50-60 whp more at same boost.

Ditto!!
Subscribing as well & good luck!! Just to tease us - what R your power goal & useage ( street vs track; drag vs autocross, etc ).
Is your LSX block a tall deck or standard? Just wondering how many cubes the standard deck'ed block could yield as opposed to the 481 cid I see that can be obtained w/a tall deck block.

I mean if I was to go TT on my bett I would def go with a Bullsey Power Borg Warner... They have proven themselves to be the best turbos out there right now...

Thanks for the heads up. First I have ever heard about the GT-K's being a poor choice. I will look further into it. I may post on here for first hand experience. The LSX block is not the tall block but it could have a much greater bore than .30 over. Thanks for all the comments!

For the power that thing can make, I would go with a carb style intake rather than a sheet metal one. The carb style intake will create a more even distribution of the charge across all the cylinders. Even on FI application, you can still lean out the #7 and #8 cylinders. If you are making big power, leaning out a cylinder just a little bit can lead to major problems.

Whoa!!
Or a woman!!!!
Gorilla - Just wondering why the World heads were chosen. I'll guess that their 6 bolt capability had something to do with it but were any other brands considered ( ETP, perhaps )? I'm just trying to gather info for myself if I win the lottery & can afford an LSX or Warhawk build myself!!
