I have a serpentine belt routing diagram..
I never seen this one for the LS1 before, but believe its a nice pic and real explanatory..Hopefully it helps out some guys doing routine maintence...

upload it to free service like photobucket first
then copy the direct link url from that uploaded photo.

Your right but...
I like to make sure as I consider myself a novice mechanic..or at least things to make my life easier when it's over 90 degrees

A pencil and a pad of paper work well as documentation tools.....you could draw yourself a diagram before you take the belt off in 2 minutes...
