C6 interior issues ??
This may be hounded to death, but new to the C6 arena I only caught a glimpse of the question. Does everybody have issues with the leather seat covers wearing prematurely? I had issues with my 98 C5 having wear and de-lamination but since GM replaced the covers "way back when" they were fine. Will I see similar problems in my 09 C6??

An extended warranty will only cover certain mechanical failures. Premature wear would be covered under the 3yr/36K bumper to bumper warranty if you're within the time/mileage limits.

The major weakness seems to be in the area of the side bolster and the available padding under the seatcover as it relates to the seat frame. I don't drag across my bolster when I enter the car, didn't on my 1997 C5 either and never had any problems with it as well.

I too had the same problem with my 98 c5. I think that they made a mod for 99's and later by changing the side bolsters from leather to vinyl.
I had no problems with my 04 c5; but as I've gotten older and with a chronic bad back and now with an 09 c6, I turn backwards and lower my butt into the seat and then swivel both legs from the ground into the car. So, I think that I do not rub the bolster.
Now for you younger guys, getting into the vette like an old lady may not be too macho, but at 67 years old -- who cares.

Do you think I am going to disagree with Paul? I had a wear mark on the side bolster. After I changed my technique for entering and exiting and put some leather conditioner on the side bolster, the side bolster looks fine.

I think GM could solve the problem with better padding underneath the bolster. The upholsterer put extra padding there, and said that was the main problem.
Now, I make a conscious effort to avoid the bolster when getting in & out.

Isn't the bolster a seating surface? Seating surfaces are leather...everything else is some sort of pleather or fabric. Vinyl will outlast leather every time...just ask the landfill people.

Again it must be a GM warranty.
The 5yr 100,000 mile drive train warranty will only cover certain mechanical failures.

Based on your pictures, that side of the bolster isn't a seating surface. My wear is on the other side of the wear shown in your picture. Based on your picture, you're correct that your wear is on vinyl/pleather/not leather.
