Fellas,
There are 18 pages of posts And I think I posted 5 or 6 times. There are many "ideas" that are trying to explain away the issue that the original poster experienced.
His car ran over a log and he pushed the Coil over shock through its mount.
I hardly think that a little ribbing (of which we at LG take our share) is cause for pointing the finger at me.
I gave logical explainations for what happened as did the other posters. this is in no way is saying that mine is better than yours is but in fact I pointed out exactly why we chose to make our upper mount the way we did.
If that is better, then so be it but that is the way we have been mounting the upper front shock mount for years now. And in addition, we thought out all of the implications of the shock body length and we chose what we did for body length for a reason. Again, if that says something then SO be it.
Look, the facts are the facts. We use Hyper coil springs for a reason. It has 1.5 less coils in the 8" spring than the competition's springs for the same spring rate. That is just a fact. But when a claim is made by the competitor that our spring will "bind up before the body" that is just not true, I can not and will not let a falsehood stand.
Ignorance of the details of my Coil Over package does not mean that it is the same as the "other guys" product. Because it is not the same. And since it is NOT the same, it will NOT react the same under the same circumstances. And if we believe that over the same log, our coil over would not have done the same thing then So be it. Because it would not have punched through the top mount.
So I appoligze for nothing.
And bring the log to me and we can video tape my car running over it 10 times, then we can look at the mount.
I never make claims without offering to back the claims up.
I am serious. Bring the log!
