Default Stay Away From Virginia Vettes!!!!!

Just to make you guys aware, I purchased a set of door panels, (1977 Corvette) from Virginia Vettes off of their web page. The cost was for basic $145 pair. That was the price that was advertised. This is the second set that I have purchased. The first set I purchased about a year ago for the $145 price. They tell me impossible but I have a receipt to prove it. The second set I purchased about a week ago and they charged my credit card $307.00 for the second pair. When I called them to ask about it. I was told the Internet price is wrong and they haven't had a chance to change it. Just bad business in my opinion.

If it was advertised at the wrong price, they should have had at least the courtesy to tell you BEFORE they charge your credit card. If they really "haven't had time to change it" then, maybe they need to hire someone to update their site changes regularly or honor their posted prices. However, I am sure there is "prices subject to change" disclaimer somewhere on their page.

I would challenge their over-charge with your credit card company. Let that process run its course ... nothing worse can happen in the meantime.

Or tell tell Virginia Vettes that you want to return the order ... with all shipping (both ways) to be paid by them

When I have a problem like yours ... not getting satisfactory support from customer service ... I always ask the rep if they have authority to satisfy your requests ... if they say no, I ask to speak to someone with authority to make the decisions. I believe the head guy there is Dick Barron ... but knowing that might not necessarily help you.

Hope this helps ... and good luck.

I had problems with these guys before .I also started a thread a few weeks back. They are not normal.
Fortunately I only got burned for $24.00, but it is the principle of the matter they don’t understand .They also sell on E_bay under VAVETTE.Read some of the customer service posts about Willcox lately They know how to take care of customers . Virginia Vettes knows how to take care of YOUR money.Good Luck!!!

If the web site still shows that pricing, take a screen shot/print screen of the page(s). It will help immensely with your credit card dispute.

We have reviewed our web site and yes the web master mistakenly written “Pair” where it should have been “Each”.
We do have the following disclaimer for our web page.
“SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Due to the length of time our sales information is in effect, changes may occur in prices, availability, and specifications of parts without notice. Consequently, we may be forced to discontinue parts or impose price increases. Changes may also occur in our policies and terms without notice. Call 1-757-229-0011 for up-to-date information.

LIABILITY DISCLAIMER: Virginia Vettes is not responsible for any damage, injury, loss, or any other charges caused by delays or incurred in the replacement of any defective items. Virginia Vettes' liability is limited to the replacement and the shipping cost of defective items only. Improper installation, damage, or injury resulting from the use of items sold by said corporation are the purchaser's responsibility.

DISCLAIMER: Virginia Vettes is not responsible for printing errors.”

This being said we have offered our customer and immediate refund for the door panels and shipping which was refused.
We then offered a $80 shop credit for additional parts of his choice at no cost.
We have tried to be understanding in resolving this matter as we have made a mistake and are trying to make things right.
We hope cooler heads prevail.

There is always two sides to every story, unfortunately this story should have never gotten this far. Prices do change and should be updated ASAP. In my opinion, the website and catologs should be fully updated prior to price changes. Common sense tells me that if an error is made on part of the seller, then said seller should honor the original price. Based on all the clauses listed by VV, I'll never spend a dime there. Looks like they're just looking to avoid responsibility for their own errors.

As per earlier post on this thread. ....They offered me a refund also as well as paying shipping one way an additional $9.20. They got the part back . Did I get a refund? NO. I paid for the part by money order so I was S.O.L.
If These guys can scam you they will. They have no integrity.

whatever. find a web guy that can type. Do the right thing. Web sites are no longer informational pages. Especially if it was ordered from the web site. Web sites are extensions of the business you are in.

speak not double to this webmaster

At Carlisle VV's display of parts for sale has big signs which warn you not to touch anything or 'heavens forbid' pick anything up. I guess they've had trouble with theft. I wonder if they sell much? What do you think?

Here's an update:

Since I posted on the board, that really got their attention, they offered me an $80.00 store credit only. That in my opinion is unacceptable. Basically I eat the other $65.00. I contacted the Better Business Bureau in Virginia and started a claim with my credit card company. Now I need to post this in the C1,C2,C4 and C5 sections.

Thanks guys for the support
