Changing Starter
#2
I did a quick search and didn't find any. Probably cause it's real easy.
*disconnect batt cable.
*disconnect exhaust pipe from manifolds and back by the trans.
*lay pipe on floor out of your way.
*disconnect wires
*remove two bolts and starter comes out.
Just like all the old Chevy V8's except for the pipe.
It took me about 2 hrs so you can do it in 1.

Starter Motor Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution
Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
2. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
3. Remove the positive battery cable nut.
4. Remove the positive battery cable terminal and the engine harness leads from the solenoid.
5. Remove the S terminal nut (2).

7. Support the starter motor.
8. Remove the starter motor bolts.
9. Remove the starter motor.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the starter motor to the block.
Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
2. Install the starter motor bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the starter motor bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
Important
Orient the purple lead wire to the 10:00 position when installing.
3. Install the starter motor S terminal washer and purple lead wire
(1).
4. Install the S terminal nut (2).
Tighten
Tighten the S terminal nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Important
Orient gray and rust harness leads to the 6:00 and 7:00 position.
5. Install the gray and rust harness leads to the solenoid.
6. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the solenoid.
7. Install the positive battery cable nut.
Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
8. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
