Default PCM...Code P0420

Got a "check engine light".... 1/2 hour after I got the car inspected, lucky it didn't happen on the way to the inspection station.

Looked up the code and it says,"System Low Efficiency Bank 1"
Does this mean my car is getting as tired as I am?
Car only has 188,600 miles on it.
Thanks

P0420 is a catalyst system code. Bank 1 is the driver side. The PCM compares the readings between the front O2 sensor (forward of the catalytic converter) and the rear sensor (after the cat). If it doesn't see much difference... "low efficiency." It could be just an exhaust leak, but with 188.6K on the odometer, it's probably a failed converter.
