Default NASA Thunde Race CMP New Video highlights...

Here are a couple of highlights from the NASA Thunder Race at CMP from today. I had a blast and the new course is better than the old course.

Giddy Up!

Pat's a good friend of mine. He turns about the same lap times as our cars......... with 100 less HP. His power-to-weight ratio is about 9:7 vs 8:7 for us....I think Jody was just afraid of all that power under his right foot.

Glad you liked the new track. I think I blowed up my engine at VIR today

That video makes me rethink my desire to come out and play with these guys. Jeezus, Jody! Was it actually fun? They need to put one of those signs up like they have in the midwest...Watch for Blowing Dust. New configuration looks interesting. Might have to try it.

Say it isn't so!!!! I know it had to be cold there. A friend that is delivering in Danville said it was about 45*. What happened to the motor? Be ready for NASA MA on the 22nd?

No, Pat was doing exactly what he was supposed to do. I couldn't get around him. I had a ball racing with him.

He can flat make that car move.

I hate to hear that. How bad do you think it is? Can you get it back together for VIR in a couple of weeks?

Nice job out there Jody - looks like fun! Way to get through that cloud - that was CLOSE!!!

Was hoping to get out to some NASA events this year, but I think my calendar is full with SCCA events so I can play at the Runoffs.

it was running fine, but it's got a pretty nasty "rattly knocking" sound low in the motor. All cylinders are still firing, so it isn't a valvetrain issue. Sounds like maybe a rod is about to go.

We're moving Wednesday, so other priorities. It's a shame, as the car was running really well.

I wonder why NASA would run the old cofiguration any more if the new one is better.

I'm not sure NASA SE will run the old config again. Jim P. said he was going to put a poll up on the NASA forum asking for people's opinion.

The new track layout looks better...it just needs some elevation changes.

Cant wait to get out there..unfortunately, i wont be making the VIR event in 2 weeks. The car is still torn apart and still waiting on some parts.

Had that at VIR last July myself - it quickly went to a bang and pieces pentrating the block, pan and anything else in the way...
