Default What did I do to my motor? :(

I am afraid I killed it........

Was enjoying the M/T ET streets that a friend gave to me last night when I heard a pop that sounded like a small backfire. Engine died and won't start now. I am (was LOL) running a P1SC with only 3-4 lbs of boost and was on it hard in third gear although it wasn't near redline when this happened.

Engine seems to turn over fine. No oil leaks, no water leaks. No smoke from the exhaust (although I did coast for a couple of miles trying to make it home). Opened the oil filler cap and no smoke from there, oil is clean on the dipstick and at proper levels. It seems like it has lost fire, but I am afraid I leaned out the motor and its shot.

No gauges so I very well could have been lean, thought I'd hold off on them for a while ot save a few bucks May have backfired bigtime.

This morning after charging the battery I checked and it seemed to have good fuel pressure. I am guessing that the pump does not run unless the motor is turning but on startup there is a small amount that squirts out from the cap at the end of the fuel rail.

Tons of codes did pop up. I haven't yet written them down but will check those soon.

Give me the good news

List the codes. That is the first step in determining what went wrong.

sorry dude, let me know if I can help out.

More Than Zero

BTW it should still start or try to if you blew a piston (it will just run like cold dog poo)
so don't give up hope.

ps could you have lost a crank or cam sensor?

My bet is that since you heard a pop, it lost the timing chain or jumped time.

if the timing chain broke it would spit out the intake.
Go back to basics to trouble shoot.

List of codes:

PCM
no codes

TCS
C1295H

BCM -
B2482H C
B2578H
B2583H
B2587H
B2592H
U1096H

SDM
B1000H
B1001H
U1016H
U1040H
U1096H

IPC
no codes

Radio
no comm.

HVAC
U1160H
B0333H C

LDCM
B2282H
B2284H
U1065H

RDCM
B2283H
B2285H
U1064H

SCM
B0851H

RFA
U1255H
U1096H
U1064H
U1016H
C2110H
C2115H

I did kill the battery so I think the door control module codes among some others are a result of that. Previous codes were the B0333HC HVAC and secondary air in the PCM. All others are new because I routinely check the codes as the secondary air pops on the check engine light.

No PCM codes. If you had some kind of catastrophic failure, I would think you would set at least one code.
You said all those codes are new but all have H (history after them) except two, which were something to do with outside air temp sensor for HVAC and backup light circuit. I haven't checked all of them but C2110 and C2115 were Tire pressure sensor faults.

pull your intake and check to see if the backfire didn't put a hole in it.

hope it's nothing major..

Every code minus a couple are battery related I believe. Loss of comm with other computers, turn signals, battery 1,2 circuits. The TPS are out because I am running different rims without sensors.

Hopefully going to start disassembly tomorrow but it will be a slow process.

Keep the ideas coming and I'll keep everyone informed!

Did you try clearing all the codes then try restarting the car??

With the battery charged, can you clear those codes and see what comes back? As you said, most are battery faults comm errors and other seemingly unrelated codes (although they are all related to the BCM).
From your description of the symptom, the intake manifold sounds like a good place to start looking.

If timing chain broke cam wouldnt turn that would leave valves open at incorrect times.
when the motor cranked the pressure from the intake valve being open at the incorrect time would force air into the intake manifold
Just like a older carb with timing 180deg out
