Default Need Pics: 1970 Deluxe wheel cover with various tires

Greetings!

I will be refurbishing my 1970 deluxe wheel covers over the
winter and would like to see how they look on three tire configurations.

I recently stripped the rally wheels that came with the car -
(2) 15"x7" and (2) 15"x8" and would like to see the wheel covers
mounted to the rally's on a car with the following:

Blackwall tires
Whitewall tires
Raised white letter tires

The wheel covers are cone shaped, with chrome plated fins
sloping up at the center. Any and all pics would be apprecaited.
How would the 15"x7" look at the front and the 15"8" at the rear - Ok?

Thanks.

Rudy

I have a '69 with the P02 wheel covers and white stripe tires. Send me an e-mail address and I can send you photos of it. I'm not able to post photos here for some reason.

There is a 70 LT-1 in the FS section with PO2's and raised white letter tires.

Greetings!

Thanks to those of you who sent pics.
Nice wheels. Literally. Also, I noticed the hex
head nuts on the backside of my wheels. I was curious
to know if anyone taken their wheels apart to clean and or refinish?

Thanks.

Yes. These wheelcovers can be disassembled. I bought about 10 of them and took the best parts frem each to make 4 good ones. The center cap and emblem are available in repo from several sources.

They come apart pretty easily. I took my wheelcovers apart and cleaned them completely. Made a huge difference in appearance.

What did you gents use to clean the chrome and polished metal?
How did you brighten up the black paint in between the fins?
Did you repaint the black painted backing plate?

Thanks.

I can not help but drool over that look. Some might find that ugly but it is different and classy. The white walls give it a period look that nobody does anymore. My Dad's '69 vert had white walls when he bought it and it looked strange to me at first but it did grow on me over time.
