I can't get mine to fit. I tried getting the duct cooking hot with a heat gun and it still isn't enough to stretch it over.

It looks like some of the other companies use the same design, with a lip on the end of the throttle body flange. The flange is much bigger than the stock one to begin with. I'd have to file the lip off of it and even then it's no guarantee it'd fit. And it also makes the part non-returnable.

What are your experiences with any of these TBs and fitment on the accordian duct?

I have the edelbrock/bbk throttle body and no problem with fitment on my 94,also had it on my 97 trans-am and no problems.

My BBK 58MM fits my stock accordian, however, on Scranage's 92 we had trouble (different intake tubing)

I had a hell of a time figuring that one out. I tried heating the accordian up in hot water. What worked for me was a shoe horn and some silicone spray. Disconnect the accordian from the MAF and the TB. Spray the lip of the TB. Place your shoe horn inside the accordian and pry it onto the TB. It's easy. Here's my BBK 52 with the stock accordian bridge.

Same problem with BBK on my '87.But managed to stretch the boot on the '90 OK.
The non stock lip is a problem but the age of the boot and it's ability to be stretched seems a factor also.

As mentioned, no way was going to fit on '87
Had to slit boot to fit TB flange and sealed slit with silicone under the clamp to prevent leaks.
No probs.

on my 90 with a BBK 58 mm it was a real chore. too tite, had to cut the plastic and hold it on with a metal hose strap. i would hope to get a silicon tube sometime and replace the whole thing.

I have the 52 MM BBK on the 85 and tried until I was blue to get the original connected. Just did not work. Tried hot water, heat gun (with welding gloves to hold it). I finally broke down and bought the Power Coupler from Mid America. That fit fine, I just had to buy a larger screw clamp for the connection to the TB. Several members have complained that the Power Coupler comes apart at the seam. I would not buy another one ( no problems with this one yet )....I would build my own. Just make a pattern from some heavy paper stock or light cardboard then buy some rubber and the glue for it and glue it together. A lot less than the $50.00 they are asking. You can use a thicker rubber and always glue an addition piece over the seam (on the outside) to eliminate any seperation on the seam.

I got the Holley.Boiled it,wore gloves used a soft plastic scraper as a shoe horn and had a second set of hands on the other side.It helped making sure the TB is hot or it cools the plastic too fast to let it stretch!

My 52MM BBK fits well.

In 2 years, I've had mine off/on almost 100 times. If it were a problem I'd have tried a new one or aftermarket because it's almost like an air filter lid (needs to be easy to do).

I'd strongly recommend NEVER cutting the rubber to fit. (Air filter issues because silicone NEVER lasts)

They wiill keep splitting until they are useless. Try the shoe horn it works. Also I put wide clamps on my accordian bridge. Got them at Home Depot. They're used to connect 4" sewer pipes.

Mine didn't fit. I tried everything. I went to home depot and purchased a rubber 4" to 3" reducer fo $6. Looks like OEM!

Boiling water and cursing got my Holley 52mm without cutting it on the 86. But it took a long time and was really hard. Did something similar to the show horn idea with a screwdriver and a lot of praying.
