Thats what i was told to use to get a light overspray of clear coat off my already nice pretty chrome wheels. Anyone have any better ideas?

They just did a thing on mythbusters. Coke and foil vs chrome cleaner. For some reason the chrome cleaner got it's butt kicked.

No, you use the aluminum foil, make a triangular shaped hat and put it on your head while cleaning the chrome with the coke -so the aliens can't read your mind while cleaning the rims Just kidding bro.
I just use Mother's Chrome Polish/Wax.

Never have tried it. If you do it, let us know how well it worked for you.

The person that told me about it, saw it there too. I'll probably spot test it.

I'll use this as a back up. I kinda wonder what a little bit of rubbing compound would do.

A simple wax is the best cleaner for chrome. Even Turtle Wax. No weird special treatments needed.

What about a paint cleaner to clean off overspray?

I would like to catch that episode of myth busters on the coke and aluminum foil.

Default Chrome Wheel Care

Nah, the Aluminum Foil is probably softer than the chrome finish, unless of course you have a clear finish on the wheels as well?

That's not what I've heard over the years. Wax is a no-no on chrome! Chrome needs to "breathe". If not, it will rust from the inside out.

The best (and cheapest) chrome cleaner is glass cleaner. The cheapest stuff you can find. To make it even better, add a little isopropyl alcohol.

For those really dirty chrome parts, a good chrome cleaner/polish will work well.

Enough of this crap. This thread should be in the Car Care Discussion forum anyway!
