Fix for F.A.S.T. MAP Sensor Location
Ever since I installed my Fast 90/90, my idle hasn't been the greatest. Even after a tune, it would sometimes surge, etc.. And at the track, I noticed my 60's weren't as great even though I saw a nice torque increase(20lbs/ft).
I installed some new Comp Cams gaskets and the Lingenfelter MAP relocation for the LS2 this morning. The MAP relocation moves the MAP from the back of the manifold to the EGR provision near the front of the manifold. Just drill a small hole in the EGR provision, place the MAP and base in place, and secure it with the hold down. Then you have to bore out the old MAP hole for the plug included in the kit. The kit also comes with a plug and play extension harness for the MAP.
After letting the car idle a while and taking a ride around town, it appears my idle surge is gone. It idles as smooth as it did with the LS6 intake.
Since my MAP sensor is now clear of the firewall, hopefully my 60's will improve again. I couldn't be happier.
The kit is a little pricey for the pieces you get, but for the difference it made on my car, it's more than worth it.
Here's a pic from their website.

I'm with you on that. I'm really unimpressed with the overall quality of the FAST intake compared to the cost. I just purchased a FAST 90 and it needed attention right out of the box. Here is what was wrong with mine:
1. All of the injector holes in the lower manifold had to be punched out and sanded. What's with the quality control?
2. The o-ring seal between the middle and top was squeezed out in 3 places and hanging into the ports. The top and middle were not sealed correctly.
3. Unacceptable amount of casting flash on the lower intake with many, many sharp ridges. Reminded me of a cheap snap together model with all the tabs hanging off of it.
4. 2 of the 6 nuts that hold the upper and lower together were twisted and almost stripped when tightened from the factory.
IMHO, the FAST is a sub $400 intake when looking at the quality. It could at least come with stainless hardware instead of off-shore half rusted black oxide.
Not impressed with FAST, but it's the only game in town. What a shame.....

You don't have to relocate the MAP sensor on a C5, it will work in the location specified by FAST. However, it is much easier and your guaranteed that it will seal correctly if you relocate it.
Bottom line, it's your choice if you want to relocate it. It is highly recommended that you do. You can also leave it at the back and run a vacuum line to it 'tee-d' off of the 1/4" vacuum port on the drivers right rear of the intake where the A/C connector goes. Just make sure you plug the hole in the top if you relocate it.
