Default LT1 Mini Starter

I have been doing some exhaust mods to my car and need to find a smaller starter that is a bit more out of the way. I have seen tons of posts for L98 mini starters, but what about the LT1? Has anybody here used a mini starter on their LT1? Who makes them?

If they are the same then what do you guys think about these starters?? They are both clockable so that should give me the most room I guess.

I bought a used LT1 94 vette mini starter from ebay and installed on my L98 85 vette, without any problem, i even dont have to shim it nor have to use longer cable to reach battery, mini starter came with stock LT1 cable too, did not use, dont have to.

It was pretty bolt on, for some reason others have lot a dificulty though. Good luck. sami

That's funny, since I put a LT1 ministarter on my 85 and had to grind the casing down to clear the webbing between the 3 starter bolt holes.

Are you sure you didn't have a 88-91 mini starter?

To the OP, the LT1 starter is basically the same as the 88-91 starter, but is clocked differently so it tucks up higher, for about 1" more clearance where it counts most.

Good Pics,

You see the long bolts on the LT1 starter that holds the motor thing together? Those ears that stick out that have the bolts go through them are getting in the way of my new exhaust.

I was hoping that someone knew of a starter that had more clearance at that spot. Please let me know if anyone knows of a starter that I could use.
