C6 oil pan in C5
Is anyone using the C6 LS2 oil pan to replace the batwing C5 pan for additional header clearance? Is any ground clearance lost with the deeper C6 pan?
Pros or Cons on the swap?

The LS2’s new oil pan was developed to ensure oil delivery commensurate with Corvette’s high-performance capability. Extensive track testing has shown the new design to provide better oil control under the extreme demands of high-rpm/high g-force driving maneuvers. The elimination of the previous “gull wing” oil pan design also reduces the engine’s oil capacity from 6.5 quarts to 5.5 quarts with a dry filter.

LS1/LS6/LS2 they are all the same. Use away.
This makes turbo access much easier. But as far as it being an "upgrade" I don't see what advantage there is. Working on the TTiX stuff with it is soooo much easier.

No. I would not go and swap it... what would the upgrade be? You are losing a quart of oil.
It is nice on the X kit stuff because of the open access it gives you to everything, I guess there may be some other benefits if you road raced the car according to what you found, but I don't know of anyone having problems with a C5 batwing bat, so why change it.

I heat wrapped my uncoated LT headers where they pass next to the wings/oil filter on my pan. I personally noticed a slight reduction in oil temp. I also feel uncoated LT heat will negatively affect the starter/solenoid and therefore the heat should be controlled. I personally have had problems with my solenoid that I attributed to LT heat.
