The HUD has no external power. It gets all its needs from the Speedometer cluster via a single ribbon cable connection. Assuming you've slid the brightness control on the left side of the cluster, up, if you still don't see it, then I'll guess the HUD has failed or the cluster itself. Maybe someone had the cluster out and forgot to reconnect the cable?

About a year go I noticed my HUD didnt work one morning. I thought it might have been a short or a fuese so I played around a little bit and found I slid the brightness all the way down when I was cleaning the dash the night before. Check the slide first. Good luck.

It is very simple but overlooked. When I purchased my car, 1/2 of the hud was missing, until I found the adjustments.

The easiest way is to check your owners manual for the HUD operation, or...................................... ...... RTFM!

Coming off the Hud or to the Hud is a small single ribbon of wires. They are connected at the top rear of the instrument cluster. I just replaced my Hud due to it becoming too dim over a few months. To do that, the dash pad had to come out. It was easier than you think to do and the Hud only costs $197 now. Total time to do it was about 2.5 hours.

Ah! the other classic is that you have turned off everything on the Display You can change the viewed information by holding down "Page" for a while it then cycles through the different things it can show you

So before you open your motor up.

1, Push slide up.
2, Turn light **** below it to Max
3, Play with the directional arrows too.
4, Press and hold page.

If that dosnt work you could always try using yellow post-it notes.. writing various speeds on them and stick them to the window as needed

I just installed my new HUD last weekend and the whole process (including cutting and reinstallation) took about 5 hours. To remove your dash will probably take a few hours, but you'll want to get some good step-by-step instructions. The hardest part for me was actually putting the dash back in the car.
The problem you might face is that you get the dash apart and don't see a problem. It could be a bad HUD switch, wiring harness, gauge cluster connection, HUD unit failure etc. Most of these things won't be obvious by looking at them. You'd have to check each component/connection until you find the problem.
