Default Best cam for stock LS1 block with good lope at idle

Hi,
I will install a D1SC supercharger on my LS1 stock block in Summer.
I just use the car for street and cruising. What is the best cam that got the most power from the low end, nice lope at idle, and not to blow the engine if sometime hit it ? I don't care much for max HP at high end
I currently got G5X2 so I will need to swap the cam ... budget is not really an issue but labor is more an issue so while I am at it, I just wanna got the best cam for me in there instead of put in 02+ LS6 cam and then change again later.
Thanks in advance!

-Mike

We feel we have found the best grind for a centrifigal 346 hands down. Its really not that lumpy though but produces monster power. It will do 800rwhp with TFS heads. An A4 car will go 9.5's as well so its proven on the dyno and the track.

That's alot of power on a stock short block. I think you found the anwer. What a great forum, always finding more power.

I have ECS blower cam with A&A newest design SQ S trim kit and it idles near perfect without any tuning!

Its not that lumpy but you can definately tell the car is cammed and it produces great results

Go with this cam so you are all set when you are PROCHARGED. If you can't deal with the fact that its not lumpy enough then go with a 224/228, cam, 114 lsa, .588 lift, as this will make nice power for your on and off the boost also, may lope a bit more, and certainly is considered a good Cent. Supercharger Cam!

Chris, I thought a stock LS6 block can only handle about 560 rwhp but you got 800 rwhp

That is the cam I use and it works fine, I guess when I want some new heads and cam then I can hit that 800 rwhp Chris eludes to

This was done on our forged 346. I could get 800 out of a stock bottom end but I would probably only get one dyno run before it went kaboom

Thanks y'all
I know that I don't want any 800 rwhp for my stock bottom and blow it in couple days 530 - 550 rwhp is more than enough for me (even tho 397 rwhp was enough for me coupe years ago ) since I don't race but just cruising around town with the top down and some nice lope in a supercharged C5
So lope and low end power are more important to me

Anyone got the sound clip of Chris cam and Steve/Jim cam?
Thanks,

-Mike

Here's a sound clip of mine. It is the first one.

http://www.velocitycorvette.com/?cat=14

I very seriously doubt that it would make a good power adder cam, but it might give you an idea of what a bigger, lopey, cam will sound like.

That idle is turned up quite a bit on that cam.
It should sound ALOT more choppy at 6-700 rpm

Here is a clip of my cam which is a one off cam I had made up.
Kinda a best of both worlds not the best FI cam but still has a good lope to it. Still makes pretty good power. Look in my sig for HP and TQ#'s

Did you look into this cam. It's almost identical to your current cam but only on a 115lsa. they have a video of it in a turbo camaro...sounds wicked .

Hi Mike, all our custom cams are $395. This cam in Dougs vert with a 346 and our Paxton kit went 117.5 mph in the 1/8.
