I have 102,000 miles on my 98 C5. I change oil when DIC is near 0% (which is usually arround 6,500 miles). I also get periodic oil analysis. Recently I switched from UPF-44 Oil Filters to NAPA Gold (made by WIX). I read that UPF-44 were restrictive and didn't flow well.

My cold oil pressure is 65 psi now, with UPF-44 it was 52 psi. I will get an analysis done next oil change, but I doubt that anything will change.

By the way, there is a site that did an oil study on a LS1 (Camaro), they got 18,000 miles on Mobil 1 oil (they changed the NAPA Gold Oil Filter at 12,000 miles when analysis said insolubles level reached 0.5%)

or your oil pressure sensor could be on its way out... That is how mine first started showing signs....
I changed to a Mobil 1 extended life filter and the cold pressure went up... within 3K miles my pressure gauge was pegged at 80 and the DIC was at 130...
I turly hope it is the filter difference...

I stopped using the UPF-44 for the same reason. I also get my oil analyzed and have Terry Dyson review the results. Terry told me to dump the UPF-44 as it was too restrictive, which is counter to the GM advertising. However, he did recently tell me the new Amsoil EO filter had excellent filtering ability and flowed well. They are $15 though.

If the filter flows more, it would have less restriction, and the pressure would go down not up. Maybe your engine was colder when you checked it with the new filter.

Only if the pressure sending unit was on the unfiltered side of the oil filter, not on the output side.

Oil flow goes from pump pickup tube to the pump then to the oil filter. Then it goes to the main galley that feeds the cam bearings and rod bearings. The pressure sender is tapped into a feed at the head of this galley. It's right behind the intake manifold. Then it drains to the oil pan for another cycle.
