New "Bad Man" inline carb from Barry Grant
Looks like an updated and improved version of the "Cross Boss" inline
carburetor used on the Boss 302 in '69-'70....
The pics below are from SEMA... I did not see it for sale on the
Barry Grant website yet..look at the manifold without the carbs.... it appears to be a crossram system.
There are small and big block versions of the "Bad Man"...
there is also a new BG LS motor EFI crossram.

Very well could be pricey....
I just fired off an email to a Barry Grant dealer inquiring on pricing
and release date.... I also asked for the price on the cross ram manifold.
I did a brief websearch to see if anyone had posted info on a completed
engine with the Bad Man set up and so far... nothing.
Even info on the Ford Cross Boss seems a little hard to come by...
I know they were a low volume performance add on... but you figure
someone would have become an expert on them and posted a website
already... so far no major hits on the Cross Boss either.

Yeah- it sure does... it looks very comfortable there... I like the way
the flat crossram box under the carb looks on the Big Block model...
looks very natural and happy sitting in that wide BB valley.

I am seriously considering one of Barry Grant's SixShooters on my Big Block. Fab up a Tri-Power airbreather on it.
I know it is not "original", but it is 40 years newer

Getting an aircleaner you can be happy with... that compliments the rest
of your engine can be a chore sometimes with multiple carbs... I like the
stock Vette triangle... and a few others... the choices aren't as wide..

Kyle,
The intake manifold is similar to the Cross-Boss® or other Cross Ram style intake manifolds. We’re actually able to get a longest runner possible in the shortest possible height. All of the runners are actually the same length, and are as long as the longest runner of a dual plane intake manifold. We’re actually in the middle of drivability testing on the SBC systems right now, and should be releasing them in about 60 days they list price at $1945. We’re going to start Power testing the BBC, and LS version in January.
The Cross-Boss® intakes were used in Trans-Am racing for two years, but they were banned from most sanctioning bodies in 1971 so productions we ended on them at that point.

Thanks, Doug..... I thought the inline carb had been born and gone away
with the Cross Boss... I am really glad to see you have picked up the
mantle and run with it... the Bad Man looks very, very nice- better than the Cross Boss... if it performs as well as it looks you should have a winner..I am a big cross ram fan-so the Bad Man is right up my alley.

Hey Doug
I too have been very interested in the six-shooter set up but am concerned about hood clearance on my 60 vette. Can you provide measurements on the manifold similiar to what edelbrock does. Not being anywhere near a performance parts dealer, I can' actually see one.
I can't find the info in your catalog and my one attempt to get an answer via email was unanswered.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that, sometimes emails get bounced back through some of the fire walls. Are you working with a BBC or SBC?

David,
From the top of the block to the top of the air cleaner in the front of the engine it's 10.9" and on the rear it would be 11.5" this is with a 3" air cleaner element.

I'm interested too... currently run a demon on a Victor Jr, but would love to see dimensions on that thing. I have a smallblock under a BB hood so I'm thinking a Badman would probably fit. Besides the cool look I am looking to improve the bottom end, as the giant cam I have qworks great up top but with the Victor Jr and the big demon it kinda sucks below 3500....what kind of CFM numbers are there for these things?
