Default Valentine One problems...error>?

Hey guys I got a V1 for christmas and put it in the Z tonight

It worked fine for 1-2 minutes then it started a consitant beeping with an E on the display...it wouldn't stop untill i turned it off...then I could turn it on again and after 1-2 minutes it would do the same thing.

I'm pissed I never had any problems out of my $50-100 radar detectors and now I get a $400 "Top of the line" V1 and this crap happens...what's the deal?

This ever happen to anyone?

Yuh...power is good...it's just hooked up to my cigarrette lighter.

I don't want it fixed I want a brand-new one. I hope there customer service is good because I'm going to let them know I will not be happy with a refurbished/fixed unit.

I mean heck this thing is only 5 days old...and the first time it gets plugged in it is crap!

Do you guys think they will give me a brand new one?

yo, dude, calm it a bit. Valentine has great CS. I have never had a problem with them.

Whatever you do, don't call with a chip on your shoulder, that will shut them down faster than fast. Be nice, tell them what went wrong. They will make it right.

I doubt they will repair that unit. And they won't resell it as new - that's called "illegal." So neither of you have a concern.

The reason I asked about power source is that if it's a little off, these can act queer.

As for V1's CS, I only encountered one person here that ever had a problem with them, and for the most part, his attitude created the problem.

I'm never rude when I call CS anywhere...I'm just a little pissed my unit isn't working correctly...I tried it in 3 different cars so it's not the power source.

I'm making a long trip this weekend and would really like to have my V1 with me. Hopefully they will straighten this out and ship me out a new one ASAP!

ive had my V1 since ... ummm ... 2002

it broke twice, detecting false alarms (3 or 4 items while in the garage) both times they fixed it without question .. personally i wonder if its got something to do with the florida heat messing with the unit, but that's only my uneducated guess.

V1 is in my opinion the BEST radar dectector and their company is even better.
