Default 86 (maybe 85 and 87) owners .. identify this vacuum line and where does it go?

I am putting back together a basket case 86. It had no vacuum lines on it, everything was capped off. Now I am trying to put the car back to stock and think these lines are the egr solenoid and throttle body vacuum lines....maybe maybe not. If so where are they routed? Pictures would be GREAT!

Those look kinda like the hoses that connect under the plennum on the passenger side to me.

Yep, those connect to the right side of the rear of the plenum. Above the FPR.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. I went through all this about 5 years ago on my 86E basketcase.

I thought it was just a short hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the plenum...if this goes on the plenum then I have my fuel pressure regulator wrong.

There is a hard plastic line that goes inside the car for heat, AC controls. That is probably what you have behind the distributor.

I'm sorry, the first pic is of one of the FPR vac. The other is for the front vac on the right side of the plenum and the rear is for the HVAC.

There should also be a diagram similar to this on your radiator shroud. I believe this diagram is more of a 87-89. It shows two vac coming from the EECS to the TB but there is only one on my 86E. There is one vac port on the bottom of my TB and that goes to the EGR solenoid.

would the hard plastic black line be the vent tube for the 4+3? That's the only thing that comes to mind at the moment.

well..I am getting closer. I know by the diagram where the vacuum lines from the egr solenoid and throttle body connect to (on an 86). I can seem to find an connector near the cannister?

Man, someone really hacked up your car it seems. How does it run? I would expect the idle kind of sucks as it looks like you've got vacuum leaks everywhere. I wish you like in resurrecting it. Keep posting questions!

SpankYellow was kind enough to send me some GREAT photos...thanks!

OK...here is the update. Got the engine back together ...pics coming tomorrow, cranked it up.....cough,cough,pop,bam. Uh.......maybe its out of time? I marked the distributor when I removed it, put it back the same place......???? no go.... out with the service manual..... check timing manually............. dangit! Pull cap, wires etc double check....ok. Get the wife out to the garage.....have her crank it while I have my finger over #1...... 180' out...how did that happen? oh well....set the timing, put everything back together....break a few wires....fix a few wires...... try it again.... veroooommm! Cranks right up..instantly. who hoo! Idle is a hunting....600 to 900 , but havent set tps, idle air rest, or even set the timing via a light yet. Then still have to double check all this vacuum ...emissions lines that have been giving me fits. I also need to find where the spark knock harness wire goes...its off and I didnt notice the spark sensor location right off...anymore I am on vaction this week, so I will post more tomorrow with pics and probably post some more questions about where does this go? thanks again for everyone help!

latest update...not much more progress, working on moving into the new garage I have been building for a YEAR... I got the entire motor back ,sat the timing....ran very well... idle was surging from 600 to 1000 rpm . . . Smoothed out after it ran a while. I think I have the egr solenoid and the vac line from bottom of throttle body to the round coffee can instead of the round grapefruit cannister . . . I am going to verify again the vac cable routing . . My o2 wire and spark knock connector are broken . , . I am going to put it on a lift and try to repair the 02 wire before I start tracking idle problems...car stays in open loop till it gets an 02 read . . . Will be a few days but I plan on keeping this thread updated due to the great amount of help received and I personally like threads that go all the way to the ultimate resolution!!!!! See Ya!
