Anyone know if they make some slicks in 18 inch or even 17 inch sizes? I would like to try a set out for the hell of it to see how the car would hook with 'em! I am not finding much out there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Do you mean drag radials or full slicks? Slicks are only available in 16", E.T. Streets in 16's and 17's, and Drag Radials in 16, 17, and 18"'s.

if you're looking for slicks .. watch out for your rearend.

That's not always true. With a stick car, drag radials will break the rear quicker than a slick. The firmer sidewall shocks the drivetrain harder on a good hook opposed to a slick/e.t. street would.

As I stated, slicks. But I think, from what you guys have said, and from searching, I am, ..... S.O.L.!! Anybody have a clue whether there is such a breed?

M&H also makes slick similar to M/T ET Streets that are 16 inch tires.

Sometimes it is funny how we only think about how WE do it.

For road racing we also use slicks. There are two types. DOT R compounds and R compounds. Most Road slicks come in 17" and 18" with 19" just now coming out. Widths depend on your needs, 275 to 345s and in a 30 or 35 series profile.

These road racing slicks also come in differnt grip comounds, soft to hard depeding on the weather conditions and the track temps.

Thank you. I agree with you and FACE. I would prefer 17's over 18's if I had a choice, as this would give marginally more sidewall to "flex", thereby reducing the shock the rear end gets on a hard launch ( I have an A4, by the way), and it would also make the tire "grab" a little better, I think. But beggers can't be choosers! If I have to go with the 18's, so be it. It seems a road race tire would work in the right compound, though I wonder if the cross section is somewhat radiused to allow for cornering, compared to a drag slick being as flat as possible? Still, they may be a better alternative than the drag radial. Anyone else for their .02? Thanks.
