Default 4L60E transmission without computer

I have a 4L60E transmission from a 96 Z28 and want to install it on my 80 corvette. I want to know how to use this transmission without a computer. I read in bowtie that all you need to get is a lockup wiring harness. Is it that easy? Has anyone done this before?

With a 4l60E you will need a computer. It is electronic. I believe that Jet and a few othe companies make a stand alone controller. The 4l60E dosen't use a T.V. cable so you would need to run a TPS sensor. You would be better of finding a 700R4.

Thanks, I looked into Jet and the kit is $1195, I think I'll just have to look for a 700R4, I just didnt want the one that I have now just to sit there. Thanks for the info.

Sell it and get a 2004R or 700R4.

Find a wasted 700R4 cheap and use the 4L60E for its hard parts. You need the 700R4 case and valvebody mainly.
