Top Ten Fastest Cars
The Fastest Cars To Roar From Showrooms in 2005
www.ForbesAutos.com
If you're willing to pay for it, you can have a rocket ship mounted on wheels. Or you can buy an automobile that rolled off an assembly line, and still get to where you need to go in record time. You can pay a lot too, up to $440,000 for the Porsche Carrera GT. No matter their price, this list of the 10 fastest ranks 2005 model year production cars. That is, models that were mass produced from standardized designs, though their production runs tend to be small.
You could arrange the list differently if you chose to measure speed as top-end performance. We picked zero-to-60-mph acceleration speed because it’s a common measure of a car’s performance and because it's legal.
Kelley Blue Book compiled the ranking. ForbesAutos.com filled in the detail by using our own material, such as base MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) for pricing, as well as information garnered from manufacturers and gleaned from enthusiast Web sites like rssportscars.com. See zero-to-60-mph times, prices and photos by clicking on each model name.

That list is messed up when an Evo is on there but no Enzo.
Its funny looking at all the high performance cars out there like the Enzo, Porsche GT and a few others that have 600hp. The fact that a LOT of FI guys on the forum are WELL above that point. Myself included. And we all paid a couple 100 thousand less.

rather impressive list of UN MODDED cars. That type of speed from the factory is silly fast. You can make a neon into a 600 rwhp car, but it isn't the same as when it's NA 600 hp from the factory.

At least the Vette came in on the top ten list. Not bad considering the price of the other cars.

I am looking at the June issue of Motor Trend and the road test results show: '05 Misobitchy EVO RS 0-60 = 4.3, 1/4 mile = 13.1/102.8, slalom avg mph = 69.3, figure 8 = 25.2@.75g. '05 Corvette Z51 0-60 = 4.4, 1/4 mile = 12.6/113.2, slalom avg mph = 68.9, figure 8 = 25.2@.76g. I just don't see how the EVO wins???

There is a new Enzo on the horizon. The July issue of Road and Track shows a slightly mod'ed Enzo on the Fiorano test track with a 6.5 or 6.8 liter V12.
BTW: http://www.saleen.com/saleen_s7_performance.htm
I'm beginning to think that Forbes Fastest Car list is BS.

The Enzo (F60) is the result of that. Just like the F40 and F50 before it...they were only sold for 1 year.
