I'm partial to DSOM, the one's I've seen are very nice, I think it's more of a love or hate it color, definitely not for everyone. If all goes well I'm hoping to pick one up in about 2 weeks.

Twenty six days ago I fell in love with my DSOM after really thinking silver was the way to go. I have the ebony interior which would be mandatory on the silver and I have both tops, but prefer the painted top. The car gets soooooooo much attention that I don't think the silver would command. I get comments on the color being really nice, from people that don't even care it is a vette. When I bought the car there happened to be a silver one next to it and there was no decision to be made when I saw that. It is very metallic and really doesn't show dirt or dust. Mine has comp gray wheels which I think makes it look really racy, however many like the polished wheels. If you want showy then DSOM would be the preference I would think. Just my humble input.....you'll love any of them!

Look at my pics, I'm unbiased in this poll.
DSOM is very cool in various lighting situations.

The C6 looks great no matter the color, but of the two, DSOM wins.
The color is classy and different.
Silver is, by comparison, drab. It's basically light grey metallic with a clearcoat.
Another minus in the silver column is that it's the most common choice of family cars and SUVs. Everywhere you look, all you see is silver, silver, and more silver.
When the old thread posted by Dave @ Kerbeck with Vettes in all the colors lined up came out, one of the first questions was "Where is the silver?" It was there, it just had to be pointed out to the poster. To each his/her own, but if I'm in a Vette, I don't want to disappear into the background!

On the flip side, Silver is time proven and was selected by Mr Vette designer himself as his favorite.. Anyone see the 1986 DSOM Monte Carlo--Not proven...
