Default Carbon Drive shaft Christmas Sale from LG Motorsports

We are offering a Christmas Sale price on the LG Motorsports Carbon Drive shaft.

This is the same Drive shaft that many teams are using in the SCCA World Challenge series with no issues.

It is the same shaft that was in my car with 535rwhp 482 rwtq at the drag stip that broke 3 rear ends from too much tire bite, but never even phased the drive shaft.

The Corvette drive shaft is nothing more than an "extended" input shaft from the engine to the front of the Transmission. This shaft will turn at engine RPMs and the stock drive shaft will "whip" like a jump rope which is what causes the rubber coupler joints to crack or break.

We also offer a billit coupler that can be used on one end for extreme racing or very high hp cars.

This drive shaft will also eliminate the vibrations that come from the stock drive shaft deflection.

Christmas Sale Price= $1095. for the carbon fiber shaft ( 1/2 the weight of the stock shaft and 100 times the stiffnes.

The Billet coupler is sale priced at $99.95

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Lou Gigliotti LG Motorsports

This is for any car that ever runs up the rpms. The stock drive shaft has a plastic/composite donut on the shaft to limit the amount of "swing" that the stock shaft has.

The "Jump rope" effect is common with rpms as well as high hp launches.
The drive shaft turns at a speed equal to the engine rpms in every gear so it sees these rpms every time the car is run through the gears.
It not only is stronger it is truly straight with no deflection in this application.

We rev around 7500 in the World Challenge race car and ran the same drive shaft all season long.

Then we used the same shaft at the drag strip for the 140 mph 1/4 mile run where we destroyed 3 rear ends that day but the drive shaft was perfect when we checked it out.

The only cars that won't benefit from this drive shaft are the show cars that never drive

Thanks

Is it really half the weight? I could have sworn you originally said the weight difference was only 1lbs or so. Unless the stock shaft weighs 2lbs

What are people doing about balancing the whole assembly?

I had my CF DS installed when they did the Excedy clutch and no balance was necessary that I am aware of. I feel no vibrations and the engine seems to rev up and down quicker than before but not sure what the twin disk may have contributed to that.

There is no problem with balance since the carbon shaft is checked for balance at the manufacturer. It is not only straight and true but almost perfectly balanced.

We have found most stock Aluminum shafts to be slightly bent when we remove them. The center "disc" that is there to limit the deflection is usually rubbed on only one side. That means that the aluminum shaft has a memory and flexes in the same direction each time after the first time.

Plus, how balanced could a stock shaft be when it flexes.

Thanks
Lou G

Dope

Just weighed one.
Stock = 5.26 pounds
Carbon = 4.56

Difference = .7 pounds

You were correct. It was closer to the original estimate of 1 pound.

The benefit does not come from weight reduction but from it being stiff, straight and strong enough to resist the "jump rope" effect.

sorry for the confusion.

Thanks

LG

Is there a video of the "jump rope" effect? I'mhaving a hard time visualizing this happening, sounds bad. Is this a commonly broken part? Don't think I've read a thread about broken drive shaft yet.

Put one aside for me Lou.

I will be ordering it, an aluminum driveshaft coupler, and a few other items soon. Gotta help Santa out

Thanks for the great products!
