Need to look up a few codes please
Sorry, I know I should have the link. I did have the link to the site that listed the codes but that was at my old job. Can someone tell me what these are and if they are something to worry about? Or link me.
10 PCM T0171H
10 PCM P0156H
60 IPC U1160H
Thanks

10 PCM T0171H
10 PCM P0156H
60 IPC U1160H
First, they are all History codes and the condition is not currently causing these codes. There are two kinds of DTCs, "Current" and "History," designated with a letter suffix, "C" or "H". A
current code indicates that the malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data.
A history code indicates a problem existed in that module sometime in the last 40 or 50 ignition cycles.
When not accompanied by a current code of the same number, it is possible it's evidence of a previous
problem. Now solved, that was not removed by clearing codes. More likely is that a history code
indicates an intermittent malfunction.
But to answer your question:
PCM = Powertrain Control Module
10 PCM T0171H = ???
10 PCM P0156H = ???
60 IPC U1160H = U1160 Loss of Communications with LDCM(Left Door Control Module) On page 8-611 of my 98 service manual it states:
The IPC (Instrument Cluster Panel) sends out a State of Health (SOH) message to the Left Door Control Module (LDCM) and no SOH message response was sent back. Condition must be present for 5 seconds. ACTION TAKEN When the DTC Sets: Stores a DTC U1160 in the IPC memory, No driver warning message will be displayed. Further "...Communication DTCs do not necessarily indicate a malfunction...only intended to aid in diagnosing an itermittent communication malfunction that is accompanied by a symptom.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC:
1) This DTC requires an ignition cycle in order to change from current to history
2) The IPC receives a SOH message back from the LDCM
3) A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present
4) Use the IPC clearing DTCs feature
5) Use a scan tool
Sorry, but after searching my pdf file and my 98 service manual, I can't find the other 2 codes.

I'm not the pro here though, just my experience and a few tuners have told me the same.

I also found it works well if you put the code into the search box. It takes a little while to surf through all the bs, but thats how I found mine.

Thanks for the info. I found out from LG that the other codes have to do with an exhaust leak.
