F/S 1973 Convertible - 4 speed, A/C Texas car
My 1973 Corvette convertible is for sale.
It's a dark blue numbers matching frame off restoration. It has a white canvas top with a dark blue interior. It's a 4 speed L48 with factory air. It is absolutely stock with the exception of a Pertronix electronic points replacement module and a Kenwood AM/FM stereo with 10 disc cd changer. The original factory stereo comes with it also. During the restoration by the original owner, an L82 cam and lifters were added.
It had 66,000 miles on it when I got it in 1998, and it has less than 71,000 miles on it now. It is one of the finest 1973 Corvettes in the state of Texas, maybe in the nation. I looked for a 1973 for nearly 5 years before finding this one. I went as far as the Route 66 show in Joliet, Illinois looking for a perfect 4 speed convertible, and they are as rare as hens' teeth. It was bought in Texas in 1973, and has had only three owners. The original owner had it from 1973 until 1997, then sold it to his neighbor who had it from 1997-1998. His neighbor had bought it for his wife, who was killed in the summer of 1998 in a water skiing accident. Not wanting to keep the Vette that reminded him of his wife, he traded it in to Corvettes of Dallas for a 1995 Corvette convertible. My wife bought it for my 50th birthday that same week in July of 1998.
Many pictures and documents related to this car can be seen on my website:

If you have a broadband internet connection, you might want to either access the portion of my website entitled "Corvette Downloads", or you can simply go to:
http://homepage.mac.com/skyfox.one/FileSharing19.html
There you will find two little mini-movies I have made about the car. Turn your speakers up.
I'm asking $22,000 for the car. It's insured for an agreed value of $28,500 with Hagerty Insurance. As far as I know, the only two things wrong with the car are: 1) the trip odometer is stuck on 12.7 miles (the regular odometer works perfectly). I've replaced the headlight switch before, and I don't want to remove the driver's side dash ever again to get to the trip odometer. 2) the R12 has slowly leaked out of the A/C system. Since I only put the top up to wash the car, the air conditioning was never a big deal with me, but if I wanted a/c, I'd probably go back with R12 instead of R134-A, since this car has a VIR, and I'm not sure how one would calibrate it with the new refrigerants. In any event, when I did run the air conditioning, I wasn't impressed by the blower motor output.
Any questions or comments can be directed to me here or at my email address.
Thanks.
Eddie

I went down to see this car earlier this week. While it wasn't the car for me (I ended up buying a '68 big block), it is a truly superb car throughout, and well worth a look (and the asking price). Highly recommended.
Disclaimer: No connection to seller. Just wanted to pass along a first-hand opinion of a very fine car.

Eddie,
I might be your man. I live in Houston. As you'll see by the pics in my sig, I'm kind of "into" your color scheme. I'm just about in a place to be on the market for a super-clean C3 convertible 4spd air car and while I was looking for a 69-72 car, the blue is a better match in 73. I've had 2 72's and a 74 but never a 73.
Have you gotten any estimates of what it would cost to make the air right again?
If you could, please send me your phone number to my email address dplette@aol.com and I will give you a call this weekend after I get back from Canada Saturday afternoon. Let me know if there is a particular time that works better than another.
This could be fun.

Eddie and I are working out the last details but this car is coming to live at my house. Eddie is a class act and he has a great car.

Can you see the family resemblance? We're happy to keep this a Texas only car!

Looks like you have a pretty sweet specimen yourself. What a paint job! Glad you didn't go for MY when you did the paint.
