Default Re: Dupont Teflon Products? (pastorbrad)

I don't really like to get into recommending waxes. I did see that DuPont display in a store. There used to be a bit of confusion about Teflon's (PTFE) ability to bond with the automotive surface when applied at a low heat.

However, I do know that DuPont has been working on a Teflon coating for wheels and getting them OEM approved which can take a very long time on the testing.

There are a lot of products in their new paint care line and they all say with Teflon protection. I don't know how good it will be as an automotive coating. Should one get a scratch that needs to be be removed how difficult would it be to get down to the paint and work on the scratch? My guess, and this is purely a guess as I have absolutly no knowledge of the product, is it will require a one of their solvents or an abrasive.

However, if it could as an wax would be wonderful as water spotting and bird crap would be very much reduced/elimiated as a threat.
